Le Fiacre

A very nice restaurant with a menu to suit the whole family. Booking is essential during peak periods.  They have 2 sittings for evening meals 19:00 and 21:00.

Pierrier

Charming restaurant serving authentic Savoyard meals and more.  My favourite being the selection of meats you cook yourself on a hot stone. Good service and lovely atmosphere.

Vieux Four

This one is very pretty; it looks like Christmas inside and out.  Good variety of food, I particularly like their duck. It's also our closest restaurant on the right as you walk down the hill.

Le Chesery

A British owned restaurant where you can get a full English breakfast.  Ideal for all the family as it offers a children's menu.  They do good steaks and the fajitas are highly recommended.

Le Feu Rouge, La Chapelle d'Abondance (Our favourite)

This place has everything, great friendly service, fantastic home produced beer, bar food and a separate restaurant upstairs. 

The micro-brewery produces a small range of fantastic beers, including a stout that's actually better than Guinness!  Believe it or not you can even order it by the pint.

There's a comfortable seating area with sofas on the ground floor next to the bar.  There you can have a reasonably priced bar snack type meal.

Upstairs there's an attractive modern restaurant which serves a great range of food, from traditional tartiflette (my favourite) to noodles (my family's favourite)

Le Feu Rouge is 5km away at La Chapelle d'Abondance in the direction Geneva but it's well worth the trip.

TAKE AWAYS

Pizza

The take away part of the Hors Piste restaurant is located at the bottom of the steps just under the restaurant itself. They cook lovely freshly prepared take away pizzas. We keep a menu in the information folder in the apartment.

Cheese and/or Meat Fondue hire

For a night in with a difference you can hire a fondue from Chez Francois, 191 Route de Vonnes.  You need to book it 24 hours in advance and have photo identity, but the hire is free when you buy the produce from the shop. The produce is fresh and very tasty, ideal with some boiled potatoes, French bread and salad.
