SWIMMING POOLS AND WATERPARKS

Aquaparc Le Bouveret

Whatever the weather this exciting water park is heated to 28° C and is open all year. It's by Lake Geneva about 37km from Chatel. See their site for fully details:-

Chatel Swimming Pool Complex (due for completion 2014)

A brand new aquatic centre is being built and is due for completion in 2014, but please note it will not be ready in time for the 2013/14 ski season.

WHITE WATER RAFTING

You can go white water rafting, canoeing or hydrospeeding on the River Dranse.

We've been twice and it's a lot of fun. The staff are friendly, keep you safe and speak several languages.

AN Rafting is located on the D22 (the main road down the valley towards Thonon-les-Bains).  After driving for about 20 - 30 minutes you will see them on the left.  It's best to phone and check the times they are operating before you go.  04 50 71 89 15

FANTASICABLE

A fantastic experience for any thrill seeker.  "Fly" across the valley at up to 100 km/h and 240m from the ground.  It runs from the top of the Rochassons lift  to Plain Dranse (above Pre la Joux) in 2 stages, so you get 2 rides! 

You are secured to a harness and connected to a cable that runs across the valley for 1,200m for the first, and 1,375m on the second ride.

DEVIL KARTING

In the summer a button lift at Pre la Joux is adapted to take karts to the top of the slope.  You then ride down on a dirt track.  Very bumpy and lots of fun. Multipass discount available.

SUMMER TOBOGGAN RUN

This is another entertaining adaptation of a button lift and ski run. You sit on a specially designed sledge and ride down a very long twisting slide.  Adults enjoy this as much as the kids.  Great fun and qualifies for both a multi ride and mulit pass discount.

PARAGLIDING/PARAPENTING

My wife treated me to a tandem flight for my birthday (was she trying to tell me something?), it was brilliant. It's not too frightening either - well it wasn't until Christophe suggested some aerobatics! Stunning views too, highly recommended.

Montreux Golf Club

This is the closest golf club to Chatel, but despite its name it is located in Aigle, Switzerland not Montreaux.  Therefore it's only 35 minutes' drive away. Click here for more information:-

BOWLING

An underground bar with 4 tenpin bowling allies and pool tables. Great fun for all the family, but quite expensive.

Located 50m down the hill from us, beside Le Vieux Four on the right and set back from the road.
